The 1990s were based. I should've been born a white upper-middle-class 6'2 hyper-NT HTN.

Russian Revolution,. People who were full-grown adults had always had a czar. Whether they loved him or hated him, for decades, it just was. Then, suddenly, in their lifetimes, this age-old institution was abolished, for better or worse.
Some may have lamented. Some may have been happy. Most peasants just went along with the whole "whatever" angle. But, still, to have been more than halfway done with life when the czar was overthrown must have been somewhat interesting. They were old enough to remember a time when such an idea or suggestion would be unfathomable. The sky is blue, the grass is green, and there's a czar. It's just a fact of life. But to have lived long enough for it suddenly to no longer be a fact of life...
As an oldcel, I'm seeing similar trends in where society is going.. Things I couldn't have even imagined as a kid or even in my 20s now may seem plausible. We're on the cusp of something, for better or worse.

I reached 5'9 in my teenage years in the late 1990s. I'm white. Still a fucking incel. Truecel. Don't glorify the not-so-distant past, even if you're too young to remember it.
In fairness, I'm far from an HTN or upper-class.
When I think history, I think of periods studied in school. Not recent times I myself have actually lived through. Like, eras in time that no one alive today remembers.
