Idk but look out for battery life

MSI GF63 Thin gaming laptop.

Certainly not the top of the line but more than adequate for school and some moderate gaming.

Thinkpad t440 coreboot running Linux

I would avoid gaming laptops. They don't usually last very long and most come riddled with problems. Buy a laptop just for school and save up for a proper gaming desktop in the future. Do your own research and find a good business-grade laptop within your budget. Avoid cheap consumer-grade laptops or you will find yourself in situations like this:

Thinkpad p14 gen 4 or newer, either amd or intel and if you are lucky possibility on eBay you can get one with a dedicated gpu and intel processor. You can get these good laptops cheap when companies overbuy/upgrade. Also they are cheap and easy to fix just in case and can take a beating.
