I've never understood this normie concept of wanting to make your parents proud. They were the ones who forced me to be born, I never asked for it myself. Their sole purpose in life should be making sure I am happy. It's not my responsibility, or concern of whether the fuck they're proud or not.

I seriously don't even get it lmao. Surely it should be parents who want to make their children proud, not vice versa.

In the West people usually try to break free of their parents and build an independent life (i.e. moving out and getting into debt so they can live a degenerate lifestyle)
