THIS.. i used to be semi Ok being 5’9” but in the last 10 years I’m midget tier. The average in the US for young people is now 6 feet even barefoot morning height. I’m a standard deviation below average. I went from 50th percentile to 15th percentile.
Everyone else got taller.. such a shitty time to be 5’9”.. one minute I’m average, couple years later I’m a midget. I wear lifts now and they make me almost 5’11”. I’m serioulsy considering LL. Manlet life is no life.

-although it's possible to get shorter in adult life, usually this doesn't start until old age with the deterioration in the spine; however, it's possible that with obesity, inactivity, and poor posture, you feel shorter walking around than when you were erect and confident, although the difference may be minimal
-younger generations are progressively getting taller, as older short incels are ruthlessly weeded out
-shorter people are staying indoors and withdrawing from society more
-the constant focus on tall celebrities and athletes makes you feel shorter

It is a real thing, I can remember being one of the 'tall' kids at 14-15 when I was 5'9.5" (my adult height unfortunately). Now, 17 years later, I'm getting towered over by gangs of school children on a regular basis and being made to feel ridiculous. I mean, who's supposed to be the adult here?
No doubt all the GH and steroids that are pumped into livestock these days has something to do with it--I also find it interesting that, compared to a century ago, girls are starting puberty five years' earlier as well.
