Growing up, all the time

My Dad kept calling me stupid. A few blocks from our place there was a home that housed special need kids, and I'll never forget when he said to me "you're like those retarded kids down the street!"
My Mom didn't outright call me ugly but she strongly implied it - "look at your skin!", "that shirt looks terrible on you!", "you should eat this/that so you can grow taller!"
I once overheard my Mom telling my sister how stupid I am - they thought I was sleeping, JFL

Now, not so much - they saw I got a Masters in STEM and can speak 3 languages (their English never progressed beyond 1st grade level at best), they realized I wasn't the moron they thought I was
The damage is done and I'm a depressed adult - when I used to live at home, I caught them watching and reading things about suicide & the signs, and now, I don't live at home anymore but they often call me for wellness checks (they never openly admit it though)

my dad blatantly disrespected me in front of a family member once, it was during the covid era, I had not gotten the vaccine at the time, the comment specifically was words to this effect "Why would he need to? He doesn't go anywhere!".

My father used to insult me for being too feminine (not a fag dont ban me) especially for crying a lot. Fuck that nigga, told me also that I never would be anything and that I would sell sausages on the street because I did poor in school while he was a fucking divorced heroin addict who got high on it with his son at home. My mom now is always nagging me about getting a job and shit and going back to school.

Since i was a kid and gained consciousness my parents always shit talked about by low appetite and weak bone structure.
I was good in studies but still they used to prop up some reason to abuse me verbally.
