Sometimes I feel like I am cursed or something and that it must be punishment for something I did in my past life. What do you think?

I believe in curses for sure I do not believe in reincarnation but it is true that there are curses working in our lives. For a good example ,the incel syndrome as they say ,the inability to attract a romantic partner I think is a generational curse .If we read Exodus chapter 20 4-6

Those cases could easily be fraudulent as much of the evidence for them is testimony instead of recorded observation. I will say that were there merit in the doctrine of metempsychosis, the world truly would be a morbid prison.

Coming from Mexican background, historically there was the belief among native Americans that deceased relatives would return as hummingbirds. To me, a reincarnation or transmigration of the soul into the body of an animal after death might sound reasonable as it sounds compatible with pantheism, which is already in line with evolution and other naturalistic explanations for the origins of all things.
