I don't really think with words or with pictures, though if I had to pick between the two, I'd pick words. Rather, I think mostly with intuition, and the words come afterwards. For example, I may experience either a sense of "rightness" or "not-rightness", or nothing, when I'm exposed to something. If I have a strong intuition about that something, I might be able to write it in words, but if the intuition is weak or there is no intuition at all, then I can't write anything meaningful or substantial about it.
