I bet the dinners were awesome back when burning a casserole meant you ended up looking like Rocky Balboa. Now there is no incentive to have a delicious meal done on time. I think this has implications that reach further than we can imagine.

In my culture food is still good. Maybe it is correlated to how women rank lower in status to men of the same generation, but thats honestly most likely not the explanation.

This is so depressing. My mother is an amazing cook and no one had to kick her ass to make her like that, but you have to wonder if there is some carryover from the older generations that put the fear of god into boomer women. The threat of violence can be a net positive, just look at Mutually Assured Destruction.
