I think some of it is a LARP, but not all.
He did seem to be genuinely doxxed by someone he knew in real life as he deleted his channel and left for a good bit. I doubt he would delete his channel if he were larping about being doxxed as he had reached his peak, and had the most opportunities for good ad revenue.
He probably larps when there's nothing interesting going on in his life so he can continue to pull in views.

It depends on how they communicate and share their thoughts. In regards to dbdr, I don't doubt that he would have more interesting experiences. Voice is a huge halo. An ugly guy with a deep voice is going to have more social experiences than an ugly guy with a nasally autistic voice.
