It's the idea that the eldest son inherits everything. Oftentimes used in connotation with Absolute Primogeniture, which refers to the system by which the eldest child (regardless of gender) inherits, but that's usually only in regards to royal titles. Throughout most of European history, wealth was passed to the eldest son.
I would greatly benefit from this, being the eldest son of an eldest son of an eldest son of an eldest son (and possible even more), but I do acknowledge how unfair this is to the other sons of a family.
