I don't want to sound like a nitpicker but I think the word 'regret' is used when you had control over something. Like you regret that you drank too much alcohol last night. Or you regret gambling your savings.
But as for do I feel sad that I'll never have a family of my own, the answer is that I'm not sure. I definitely wouldn't want kids in this life situation anyway. But who knows how I would feel if I had a loving gf (not happening.) I think baby fever is primarily caused by being in love with someone, and you see yourself having kids with them. Obviously nobody of us is in that situation so why would we even want kids. The instinct isn't there and doesn't kick in because there's no one to have kids with.
