I recall reading Kim Jong-Ils comments on Kimchi proclaiming the norths variant was too watery while the souths was too salty. My sister had purchased a large jar of it and I already quite liked pickled vegetables like radish and tomato so I tried it and it's quite good with a unique texture unlike anything I've had before. The smell is not very pleasant but oh well.
