if they got to the point of asking, then they already think they know. the best response is to lie with a bit of self deprecation thrown in to make it somewhat believable. something like "yes, but saying i got lucky is an understatement" and sort of laugh at yourself in a somewhat serious/depressed manner. by doing this, you basically signal to the person asking that you acknowledge that it might be hard to believe that a fucker as ugly/awkward as yourself got laid, but somehow it actually happened.
