Yes. It was never my choice.
I hate the fact that they forced me to stay for next to two years out of the lab and now expect me to know everything. I hate most if not all of my commilitones, most of them are pretentious big brains and most of them cheat (which I don't condemn them for, but once you realize that these scientists in spe cheat at low evel exams that don't matter in the long term you know what to expect of them when they really have a career, if you start cheating so early I don't think you will change later in life).
I hate the fact that I was forced to do that shit by my parents because I am not an intellectual and would have done a vocational training where I could follow the same interests (mostly anatomy/osteology, preparation/dissection work, zoology, botanics) and that would be far better suited for me otherwise (sadly they threatened to kick me out if I go there).
Now I have a meme degree and have to acquire another meme degree to work in a job I de-facto hate, which has nothing to do with my initial interests, which is far too mentally/physically exhausting for me and which I have no future prospects or even employment chances in due to Autism/physical health issues (while I would be now in employment if I had done what I wanted).
I think university (even here in Europe where it's largely cost-free) is useless for me, I wouldn't have finished my high school education either, because it's not required for the vocational training in my country. I never wanted any of this shit and you cannot make a mediocre individual at best into something better. The fact that I wasn't kicked out by my university (yet) doesn't show anything about my personal skills, but is rather a desastrous testimony for the local easiness of modern "higher education".
For STEM I am not creative/intelligent enough, reading for the sake of reading is something I never participated in, after my teenage years everything I read was a practical instruction for something I wanted to do. I was made to follow orders and am dilligent within my capabilities in it. I am practical, I don't think about things, I do them. Learning brings me no joy unless I can directly see its effects/apply the knowledge. At least I know myself and I know my limits (which I am completely honest in) - something that most people don't know.
