The very concept of God is contradictory, particularly the Christian conception (an omniscient, omnipotent, and omnibenevolent being). Not sure what your definition of God is but all the religions seem to have grossly different and mutually exclusive conceptions of it (or gods for that matter, or no deity at all but some amorphous spiritual force). They do not lead to the same God except in the most broad, unspecified, borderline meaningless sense of the word.

Either way there does not seem to be any naturalistic way of demonstrating a god's existence, and hence no reason for me to believe in it, but what is undeniable is that great harm has been done in the name of god and in the belief of the supremacy of one religion over another. Meanwhile, the benefits of religion are questionable and can probably be attained in another manner that does not result in such tribalism and the suspension of rationalistic thought. I could at least tolerate more amorphous conceptions of a spiritual force, but if we're talking God as a distinct personality I just cannot conceptualize it as anything beyond the most profound surgical grade copium.
