Most people here think the opposite, but genes only influence what hormones can do for you, and your lifestyle also effects that. Most kids now get fed baby formula as opposed to breast milk either due to the mom not being able to produce milk or not having time to feed the kid (consequence of nuclear esque families.) Baby formula has seed oils and soy in it, crazy amounts as well. That's just the first step. Every food that kid eats is probably fucked in one aspect or another. Cooked in teflon or non-stick pans? BPA. Seed oils? GGs to testosterone. Soy? Same thing. I could go on and on but you're basically being castrated since the moment you're born.

i spent my whole childhood depressed and abused and only fed kfc from my screaming family every once in a while. its clear that my brain and body never really developed because of this, obesity must have caused some sort of hormone failure which caused my genitals to never increase in size during puberty and my brain never grew either.

I think genes matter more, at the end of the day you can't cheat your genetic destiny. In a way, if you were born as extremely attractive, the abuse wouldn't have mattered because other people could have validated your existence and made the abuse just a distant memory. Your self-esteem and confidence wouldn't have been damaged.

Nurture matters but genes trump everything. You can grow pretty flowers on a poor soil, and you can have some ugly ass flowers on the most nutritious soil.
