Do subway trains often run over mice or other small animals?

Can they spot animals on the tracks if they’re in the tunnel? Can they break fast enough?

I don’t know much about subway trains, but I know that they’re significantly lighter than a normal train and thus can break faster.

But I’ve also seen cases in the news where people were pushed on the train tracks and, even though the train drivers would have seen the person before entering the station, they weren’t able to break fast enough

I thought my question was a little morbid, that’s why I posted it here

EDIT: I understand that they wouldn’t care about the animals, I was just curious if they could see them and break in time

No, why would a rat be in a subway?

there is no food down there and they probably wouldn't be able to get back up

Why are you copying threads from reddit

When I was a professional train engineering I put a bumper sticker on my cabooses

We brake for rat's!
