thought i would give romance anime a shot. guess what, the guy turns out to be tall and handsome , the girl literally goes crazy over his looks and doesnt believe him when he tells her that he had never had a girlfriend before.

he then proceeds to tell her that the reason behind that is "im not interested in romance and all"

gay ass bitch nigger
fuck this shit man
i wanna ER so badddd (in gta)

duh it's a shojo

Many of these shoujo/josei anime will magically have the girl be experienced sexually and romantically while the guy is a rare chad with no prior experiences so he's oblivious and accepting, I'm pretty sure this tracks with yamada kun.

Without fail when it's a romance between a socially isolated or lonely guy and a foid and written by a female author, being concerned with sexual history of past is demonized I have to make a thread on this because it has to be some kind of social messaging they are trying to push onto lonely men who are not willing to betabuxx as easily.

I remember arguing with @Ahnfeltia over this. While girls can watch shounen romance no problem (like DITF or Bunny Girl Senpai), Shojo romance is literally unwatchable for guys:

I don't think in my 10+ years of watching anime and reading have I ever found a tolerable shoujo or josei romance, I would've said dress up darling but even that's seinen. Shounen/seinen presents an idealized version of reality but even then it's somewhat grounded but I don't think I've ever related to a guy in shoujo, they're like obedient one dimensional husks. There's whole communities dedicated to "men writing women poorly" but foids are way more guilty of not representing the opposite gender well. "Ao haru ride" was especially a bad offender, I couldn't last two episodes before dropping it and it's supposed to represent the demographic/genre well :feelsUgh:. Foids actually cannot write interesting narratives, there's no female equivalent to hachiman, it's just the author's self insert usually.

didnt know this genre even existed . i dont watch anime much . gonna keep my heads up next time

It's because men have always been the romantics, not women. Mutual unconditional love isn't a woman's fantasy, it's to be protected, catered to, worshipped, revered, dominated, etc. Disney love is a male concept written by men.

I mean, i want to be impartial and say that probably harem/romcoms catered towards males are more or less the same. Introverted MCs who lust after stacies, so i won't be as judgamental of Shojos as i'm not the target Demographic.

But being an incel and watching Shojos is asking to be hurt, you'll see what Girls want in males and even your escapism will be sullied. The only reedemable example that i can remember off the top of my head is Lovely complex, which i quite enjoyed while still being a shojo.

2 of the most recents shows that i absolutely hated was 1: Yamada-kun 999 and the one of the guy who's a pro at smash and the popular girl gaslights him into grooming and BP bullshit to get girls and be more social, oh god how much i hated that show, it's not even a shoujo but was insufferable
