Oh yes they do. I have seen it happen. Remember, it's not just your narrow idea of modern "American normies" in the dating world that exist. I know some mid Western guys who were in military and not Chads but who were just low tier normies and yes, they did have to ask the girl on a date. I also remember stories from my cousin in the 80's and 90's (before I came to live in America) of them asking girls out in collage and graduate school all the time. Like in a "proper" way by going to a "Formal" or dance or some event and then meeting the girl and asking to go out the next night.
