I've always been very aloof, especially as a teenager. The world seemed to be a foreign, odd affair and it took a while for me to figure out that it's all a masquerade basically. From human social interactions to issues like the stock market. The thing is: once one figures this out, is it too late to play a winning game (in finance, because love is out of the question)? Can being a late bloomer be a good thing? Or is it a sign that I'm just not made for this? Are there any self made wealthy people that started out as disconnected naive weirdos?

Wealth is inversely correlated with a precocious sex life though.

Depends on how the person looks. And what their mental state is like. The odds are reduced, but not completely nil.

I just made a masquerade reference in another thread, I swear to god I didn't read this post first. Synchronicity? Lol

Being a late bloomer is a good thing if you ever actually bloom... I feel like the longer it gets the worse your odds are. But I don't want to kill your spirit, maybe you are going to work it out, you never know.

Yeah it's an odd thing. Schopenhauer called it a good thing and technically he is right, the later one develops, the more complex he is. But is this complexity actually a good tool in a world of idiots? He said no. He compared it to using a telescope in a theater. Which might be intellectually flattering, but financially not so..
