I usually think I'm ugly as shit but my dog acts normally around me is there any truth to this?
I assume that they think we all look ugly because we are hairless.

Dogs and cats do not view people the same way.
It is about how you act and smell around them.
If you act too close or too stiff, especially with a cat, they won't like you.
With cats, you basically have to let them approach you instead most of the time. Staring into eyes is also no good.

Domestic animals are the closest thing to having friends you could ask for. They don't care if you're poor, ugly, and socially awkward; if you love them, they will love you back.
