I know most doctors are arrogant "I'm so much more educated and more intelligent than you" types, but do they really just see as worthless meat sacks to be exploited for profits? Or do they want to help us?

Perhaps in the USA, in Europe thy are pretty nice. Even in post communist Eastern Europe where they do get bribes for their basic services they act like normal human beings.

There are two types of doctors. There are doctors that treat their patients like worthless scum, and doctors who treat their patients like customers. Also you can divide them between "incompetent" and "competent".
But at the end of the day, they're all in it for the money, and the same goes for every other occupation (though with a few occupations you can add "power" and "status" to their motivations). The absolute best you can hope for from any profession is someone who will be competent, not openly treat you like dogshit, and won't outright scam you.
