my friend said something like "you seem like the type to have low standards". it was pretty funny to me because despite being a -2/10 with no dating experience, i am shallow and i absolutely am not desperate enough to date a ugly man.

I think it's an unfortunate situation where unattractive people have to settle for other unattractive people. A situation where you don't find eachother attractive.
More often than not the woman would not have a pleasant personality either.
