Honestly some of them were not even armed. Could have at least captured those guys.

Man, had I been drafted like the few Russians, without my consent, I'd at least try to take a big piece of paper and write down that I was drafted and did not even want to be there and let them capture me.
It's a chance that I'd take rather than appearing to the other side as yet another volunteer.
