Okay, scientists call this moaning during sex "female copulatory vocalization". They say that in non-human primates (monkeys and apes that share 96% DNA with us), the purpose of female copulatory vocalization is:
To cut the long story short, scientists say that in non-human primates the purpose of females being loud during sex is to attract other males and potentially mate with them if they are superior.
You'd think given that we share 96% of the DNA with these apes, that the purpose of human female moaning during sex would be similar, but surprise surprise the scientists claim there is a myriad of completely different reasons:
So... if you ever ascend and the foid is loud when you're fucking her, know that she's doing it to attract superior men she can fuck instead. Maybe she's not hoping for that consciously, but that's the kernel the foid operating system is running on. Never forget this.
which also results into attract other males, allowing multiple mating acts and creating paternity confusion among the males involved
Another purpose of it is:sperm competition, and therefore fulfills the additional function of obtaining high quality sperm
the female might provoke mate guarding behavior in their initial mate. This 'parental concentration', has two outcomes. Firstly, the male might be of high quality, allowing him to fend off those that were attracted by the call. In that case the female has not only gained someone who can protect her and who prevents infanticide through other males, but this also means that she was inseminated by a specimen with potentially good genes. Secondly, if the male fails to successfully guard her, she will mate with the newly arrived males, hence inciting sperm competition and paternity confusion (again preventing attacks on her offspring, as well as increasing her likelihood of obtaining high quality sperm). The calls produced by the female also carries information about the status of the male with whom she was copulating, thus allowing her to influence the likelihood of other males approaching.

likeTheories are more diverse in regard to women’s sexual vocalizing.
andBy exciting her partner with her vocalizations and bringing about his orgasm at that point, she helps ensure that the seminal pool is available for her cervix to dip into as her vagina relaxes after her orgasm.
andCopulatory vocalizations may also be a type of mate retention behaviour.
and I shit you notthey vocalized during intercourse to make their man ejaculate more quickly
Such mental gymnastics to avoid the obvious conclusion. It is also possible that some vocalizations are due to hyperventilation.
