I had to have friends over. Couldnt usually go to them. Wasnt allowed to go to parties. Not that I was invited.

My parents love me but they knew damn well I was going to be treated differently because of how I looked and how naive I was as a kid. I was kept inside a lot growing up after being bullied, mostly because they didn't want me to get hurt anymore because of how I looked.

You're their child, so they probably don't think you're ugly. Parents will cope and convince themselves that their offspring is of high genetic quality, otherwise, what does that say about them?
