Did moving out from your parents improve your life/cope?

I'm weighing up living with my parents, (who are very controlling, esp my mom). Vs living on my own, with very little friends.
I would basically be a loner, if I don't take more action to be with my old friends.

It's depressing coming home after a long day at work to a cold dark empty house.
The main reason children move out is if they plan on having girls over and stuff and obviously that won't be happening so I ultimately had my mother move back in and have her clean and cook in return for having a place to stay.

But if she was annoying enough I would live alone

i'm glad i don't have to be around their stupid fights anymore

it is kind of sad and tense sometimes to be in an empty apartment, but overall I prefer it, when in a good mood it's just too great to do whatever you want

Haven't moved yet but want to. I am concerned though that if left alone in a condo or apartment, I would descend further into madness. I have no friends and only talk to family when I have to. I also work remote. I would essentially be completely alone save for some trips to the store.

It did. My parents and siblings fought a lot so I could rarely have a peaceful time, they were also control freaks. They also had crappy internet.
