I used to have a very rural American kind of enunciation as a child, like a cowboy or something.
If I were white, it probably wouldn't have been as much of a personal issue to where I thought it had to be fixed, but even back then I knew it was weird for Asian kids to talk like buster scruggs.
Especially after my family went to the Northern states, I can't even imagine the shit that I would've had to deal with if I didn't get it together early on
