I know how gay and fake this sounds, but I would honestly use it like a superpower to try to fight evil in the world.

I would learn everything I could about nasty fuckers cutting villagers' hands off in Africa, and cartel bosses skinning people alive in Mexico, and end people like that.

I would resist the urge to use it on anyone thst the mainstream media tells me is "bad" or "wrong."

I would definitely not cause any unexplained deaths among people that have any connection to me, or my relatives or my friends.

Just horrible people who are making the lives of others awful.

One thing you forgot to mention is the fact that it's also kind of a temporary mind control device.
With that in mind, I'd get Bill Gates to place several million in gold bullion at a dead drop.
After that I'd use the Note to get back at the people who wronged me. (In GTAV)
Then, I'd use it to try to speed up social collapse. (Making people in congress vote some way, assassinating top country leaders etc.)

Yeah and that’s why the writers HAD to make Light the sociopathic narcissist he was. No one is going to watch a show where some random normie has the death note and decides to write in a few names, get a few million, and quit.
