I've heard this quote been said and for the most part it's true in that simply put Many men have little to no options (Dying of thirst) where as foids have near infinite options (Drowning) tho to add on this what i'll say is the drowning by foids is self inflicted in that she could very easily get out of the water and breathe ie get out of the dating scene.

Where as with Many Men dying of thirst ie having no options it's completely out of our control.
