- My Secret Garden, Nancy FridayThank you so much for your letter. I am perfectly certain you were aware of the effect that phrase "John Harrison’s cock that is up you "would have on me. Of course I have thought of this and longed for it, but being able to tell some one and see the words written down was somehow extra exciting. In my thoughts I have used the word penis, but your phrase sent a sort of electric shock through me. All that day (last Friday) I felt very odd, warm and sort of open and receptive. I bought a black scanty garment because I know that color turns my husband on. I just couldn’t wait until we were in bed, as we have two children around. I was in bed first, so my husband hadn’t seen the little black thing I was wearing.
- ChatGPTWomen constitute approximately 82–84% of all romance readers. [1][2][3] Dark romance is especially popular among women aged 15 to 25, with many discovering the genre between ages 11 and 18. [4][5] As of August 2023, the hashtag #darkromance amassed approximately 1.6 billion views, positioning it as the third most-viewed genre on BookTok, following general romance (8 billion views) and short stories (1.8 billion views). [6][7]
Now let's say I'm in a dark romance mood, Because let's be honest I'm in those moods quite a lot

For this thread I watched a few videos of foids talking about their favorite dark romance books, It's expected that these foids are in love with "serial killers" "psychopaths" etc and that's exactly what these videos showed me. This is nothing new. If you watch any of the "reviews" or "recommendations" by foids either on tiktok or youtube It's all fucked up shit, Infact the phenomenon on tiktok is so popular that it has it's dedicated wikipedia page!

BookTok - Wikipedia
A funny example, one of the books the foid was talking about "lessons in sins" caught my attention as It was about a priest and christian themed and the foid goes "there's humiliating scenes as well" so I ctrl + f "humil":
Also all the guys on the cover are literal giga chads lmao.
I searched up one of the books this exact foid's mom recommends (more like cheers for in the video like OMG YOU NEED TO READ OMG), You will find essays reviewing these books and how good it is like Incels write essays on soyciety and how shitty it is

Draven…. I cannot express in words how perfect of a morally black mmc he is. I’m also equally in love with him. He is a work of art in every sense of the word. - 7ft tattooed, pierced, icy silver eyes, dark hair, Viking style fit of a man.
I also downloaded the book, On the first few pages It lists out Its trigger warnings:
Wow that's very wholesome. Just ask yourself, Why would women read these kinds of books? Is it the patriarchy telling to? Is it because of "psychology" "muh preparing" "muh fantasy? No. These are ad hoc excuses to nullify any accountability for women. So men don't want to prepare? How does reading these books even prepare you anyway? You will get killed regardless If a psychopath wants to kill you. People who read these books ENJOY reading these books on a primal "basic needs" level as supported by the comments. None of them go "O MAY GAWD I LEARNED HOW TO PREPARE MYSELF AGAINST A PSYCHOPATH, GREAT PSYCHOLOGICAL BOOK! 10/10! Oh yeah please less of that rape and gore please thx

The slightly more honest explanation is "muh fantasy" as that indirectly admits that women enjoy these books on a primal level. When it makes a distinction between fantasy and real life its implying that there is a sort of "reality" that just speaks for itself. Like sola scriptura for protestants, the bible speaks for itself. Instead people claims that reality is just there and defends itself and if you are not deluded, aka in fantasy, then everything is just obvious. It is interesting that it assumes fantasy can exist apart from reality, because that implies a sort nature-fantasy distinction.
Another problem with this worldview, Give me an objective standard / a method to distinguish reality from fantasy for example just because you believe something is "unrealistic" or "fantastical" does not mean it actually is. So how would you establish fantasy from reality without appealing to your own definition of fantasy and reality? This is why a lot of these belief systems practically fail, they couldnt even tell you why a schizophrenic is wrong when he sees people that are not there. Maybe he just sees people that you can not see, and they are real people and you are the schizo but instead of seeing that that are not there you DONT see things that are actually there
Now character.ai has some AI bots that are similar to the books these foids read:
Notice the millions of messages...
This also lines up with women gaining sexual pleasure from pain + being the gender searching rape disproportionately:
Among the top PornHub searches by women is a genre of pornography that, I warn you, will disturb many readers: sex featuring violence against women. Fully 25 percent of female searches for straight porn emphasize the pain and/or humiliation of the woman—“painful anal crying,” “public disgrace,” and “extreme brutal gangbang,” for example. Five percent look for nonconsensual sex—“rape” or “forced” sex—even though these videos are banned on PornHub. And search rates for all these terms are at least twice as common among women as among men. If there is a genre of porn in which violence is perpetrated against a woman, my analysis of the data shows that it almost always appeals disproportionately to women.

Book: "Everybody Lies: Big Data, New Data, and What the Internet Can Tell Us About Who We Really Are"
It's a book where a guy looked how people act "behind closed doors" aka online, compared to how they present themselves in other context. In this interview he gives an example of how foids hate their husbands but virtue signal on social media: STEPHENS-DAVIDOWITZ: My favorite example is I...
