Schizophrenia is basically not being able to perceive things accurately. Schzophrenic people often see and hear things that aren't really there and fail to see and hear things that are there. They might be 3 weeks without a shower and not notice that they are dirty for instance.
They usually have some annoying rituals they do, in the case of my aunt one of them is praying out loud in the hallway at the most inopportune times, like 4 am, 5 am, etc. When she has to go out for something at, let's say, 10 am, she begins dressing herself at 5 am or something. She also hoards super old shit in her room.

Once there was a mosquito infestation in my street because of a construction site near here, I saw my aunt with a cloud of mosquitos on her and she was sitting there quietly without any reaction. I had to go and kill the mosquitos and tell her that they were there. Also turn on the fan.
