Syria was heavily sanctioned and US stole the oil fieldssince the Assad government got help to retake a lot of the territories and then war got frozen, they had years to rebuild their armed forces, prepare for next stage of war, but they didn't. This whole offensive shown how rotten and Incapable Assad rule is, nobody want's to fight for him, his armed forces just abandon their positions with their equipment and run.
These guys are more pre-occupied with Sunni and Shia infighting than taking on the country trying to grab their land. I imagine Israel will grab some more land from Syria for peacekeeping purposes, and never give it back.would be funny if all of that would benefit Israel the most in the end but muslims are celebrating it
