We seem to partly suffer as a by-product of civilization. What is confusing however, is how was "80% of women reproduced, meanwhile only 40% of males did" true in the past in such a case? My next best guess is simple - women always go for the top of the top. If everyone turned into Chad, women would only fuck Giga Chad. If everyone turned into Giga Chad, they'd only fuck a Deity etc. That's why females from very poor environments, such as some places in Asia, will fuck you if you are just white for example.
Hypergamy is the realest thing there is. We suffer because of a shitty evolutionary mechanism that shouldn't even have a place. Without editing genes responsible for this, we're doomed as species.
It's nature basically just destroying your life for no reason. My best guess is that we went so far with our civilization, that we started developing traits (small jaws, low T etc.) that naturally would only occur with serious disease or genetic malfunction. In primitive societies, people are stronger, have wider jaws and have generally more attractive features. In socieites where's the no carbohydrates, people have perfect teeth with no medical care, with fully functional wisdom teeth.
