The first part is true but it wasn't the reason in the case of COVID. Women literally have better immune systems, especially re: respiratory illnesses. "Man flu" is a real thing. More women work in hospitals and were at least as exposed as men.
Female nurses actually had lower mortality rates than men working regular jobs. It makes sense from an evolutionary perspective because females are more valuable than males.

I have been around in countless more or less intellectual online spaces and the amount of women that left a net positive impression on me I can count on one hand. The world would be very boring and dull if the only creative force in human society had been the female mind.
That evolutionary reasoning doesn't ring true to me, not dying to illness is pretty much equally as important for the total inclusive fertility of a man as it is of a woman, no? Men more likely to be wounded in fights or on hunts, men more more likely to take risks, so probably more frequently exposed to attacks on their immune system, every expression of weakness a potential death risk / risk of dropping in rank for men, being in need of care not nearly as risky for women as it is for men evolutionarily. Instinctively, I would say it's more likely to relate to childbearing than anything else.
I'd say no. The classic argument that women are more valuable because a man can procreate a thousand times but a woman can only procreate a handful of times (if that prior to modern medicine) I think rings true.
This is true as well. Women need to be as healthy as possible to bear a child, and their immune system is the child's immune system (after birth as well, as they provide the milk it lives on). A man can procreate if he's half dead. A woman can't.
And, of course, due to modern medicine, we forget some of the physical hardships women had to endure in the past. Childbirth used to be incredibly hazardous. As did menstruation. And, as women are more communal (and harems were the more common social setup, historically), they spent more time with more people, which would mean they were more exposed to disease and illness.
