i have a bad feeling about crispr but it might just be my pessimism/misanthropy

can't help but feel it will be unsafe and have problems for a long time, and that baby boys will basically be used like guinea pigs while baby girls are protected

basically crispr use would be the new circumcision

CRISPR can't be used to make people ascend tho it's a gene-editing tool primarily used in embryos or single cells. Once someone is already born, CRISPR can't fundamentally rewrite their whole genetic code. So even if there were no ethical restrictions, it's currently not a way to 'upgrade' living humans.
