My lived experience has shown the exact opposite. The worst guy I ever dated, just an absolutely sadistic abuser, was a stereotypical, skinny gamer NiceGuy. Grew up in a rich, white family, got an engineering degree, spent hundreds of dollars and thousands of hours on his video games. Sent texts like the above on the regular. By the time I left him I was sure he was going to kill me. He'd already killed our first cat.
Best guy I've dated, who I'm currently seeing, is covered in tattoos, has gauges, teeth knocked out from being a pro-fighter, and is just one big hunk of muscle. Has a GED, got in some trouble growing up, and likes video games but prefers to do stuff outdoors like rock climbing or hiking. Yet despite what a NiceGuy would believe, dude doesn't seem to have a sadistic bone in his body. He's the most gentlemanly person I've ever dated in my life. He's pretty much the human embodiment of a really sweet pitbull: give him cuddles, food, and exercise and he's yours.
