I have been in university for Cybersecurity for a few years and I honestly feel like I wasted my time. Most of the shit I have been doing doesn't even pertain to my major. Also there are literally NO internships and it's difficult to make connections. I agree with this. I had networking certificates and honestly should have stuck with that before the IT job market hit the shitter. I would have to live in the hood if I ended up working an entry level IT job right now.

The market right now for IT jobs is genuinely fucking terrible if you don't have any connections. I make more at my retail job (also WITH benefits and yearly raises) than what entry level IT jobs are paying out right now.

I think you just gotta land one job and then you're in. many of these cucks will do several months unpaid just to have some experience but then it can pay I guess

it might seem it's bad as fuck and it can be extremely draining but once you're in, you're in, it's just that the degree itself won't give you much leverage regarding hiring so it feels like it's absolutely fucking worthless
