I can't make up my mind. Mao supported Mongolia's independence. Mao also condemned Han chauvinism. The Chinese communists gave non-Han people preferential treatment for university admission. On the other hand, the Chinese are ready to suppress the Uyghur separatism that began in the 1990s and reached a peak in the 2010s.
