I've been doing this for awhile. I used to really get annoyed by songs like that but after truly accepting that my situation isn't changing at any point, I started casually enjoying the songs while daydreaming about how magical it would be to experience the situations implied by the lyrics.

i stare at my wall before I sleep listening to romantic songs, thinking about what could have been with my oneitis and I eventually fall asleep going through those scenarios. It's my best cope
