1 cup of dry oats (rolled oats preferred)
1.5-2 cups of water or milk
2 tablespoons of flaxmeal or chia seeds
(optional) 1 tablespoon of instant coffee
(optional) Sweetener to taste
(optional) 1/8 teaspoon of salt
Put everything in a bowl, mix well, seal and refrigerate overnight. Will last 3-5 days depending on the quality of the seal. Adding the instant coffee is good if you can't or won't make coffee separately. You can even add the instant coffee right before eating if you normally make coffee separately but can't or won't for whatever reason. Alternatively, you could brew real coffee and use that as a substitute for water or milk if instant coffee scares you, though I'd only recommend this if you're making multiple batches. Overall a great zero-effort breakfast for even the most dogged wageslaves and decrepit rotters.
You can also add some nonfat yogurt or protein powder if that's your thing. I put TVP in mine and it works.
