The preparation remained quite thorough for two teenagers, also they spared some people they knew so they weren't as greedy of blood as they made it out to be in their videos/personal affairs.

yeah the whole shooting was pretty much an impromptu plan B. their plans didnt account for the possibility of the bombs malfunctioning . ive read articles saying if the bombs had went off as planned it wouldve leveled literally half the building and killed at least 200 people .
Yeah, I've heard the figure it would've collapsed the building and killed 600, nah, those propane tanks I don't think are very explosive if you ever see people shoot them it just kinda flares up really fast, just like in the surveillance video in the cafeteria.
Weird thing is they had a diversionary bomb in a field close by that went off, wonder why that one was successful, probably because a detonator wouldn't set off the tanks itself, or it was just poorly made.

Of course it was due to purely aesthetic reasons insofar as their obsession with DOOM. Dylan had a literal super shotgun from DOOM (because it also so happens to be purposefully sawed off). So it's definitely not a coincidence that Eric sawed off his shotgun to make it look exactly like the regular shotgun from DOOM as well.
Well, I mean they also had a lot of time in the building, nowadays cops are trained to run to the shooter, obviously sometimes it doesn't happen like Uvalde (kek), but they had a lot of time to kill as many people as they wanted that were trapped in the library but didn't.
