My summary:
======================================================
Your self declared successes are instead most likely to be failures.

A self-serving bias is any cognitive or perceptual process that is distorted by the need to maintain and enhance self-esteem, or the tendency to perceive oneself in an overly favorable manner

No one says psychology is a hard science. It has no differential equations for a start. It does look for patterns though, many of which I've noticed when I had to talk to people about defining their bug report prior to fixing it.

Sometimes, for example, a person will report a non bug that is a just a slight variant of the last bug they reported. This is an example of priming and confirmation bias combined.

We can increase our IQ by learning about cognitive biases.
