I feel you. I also tried, irl. The girl in question was like, a 3 in body and a 5 in face. Still, I liked her. She seemed quite and humble. It was the first time in my life I felt I had a chance with someone. So, we get out of classes and I come up to her, pat her in the back and we start chatting. All was good, and then I asked her out. She said yes. Asked for her number. Got it. Raced home ecstatic.

Get home, call her to arrange a time and place. Tells me a GUY was coming over to study and that maybe it'd be best to get to know each other better before going out. I got the memo. Never talked to her again.

A little over 5 years back or so, when I was still doing my bachelor, I serendipitously ran into a girl I'd been in high school with at the train station. Apparently she went to the same uni as me. We talked en route to the campus -- it went well. She suggested we should have lunch together sometime. Because I was self-studymaxxing from home I declined. This all happened in the morning. It took me until that evening to realize it might've been an IOI. I don't think it was, but I'll never know for certain.
