It's often traumatizing for boys and they remember it, so much horrible shit happens in the operating rooms as boys try to escape, sometimes even during in the middle of the operation. Hell I remember everything and I was not even cut, the castration anxiety and the desire to avoid getting mutilated is that intense.
At that age you can remember being deceived by mommy, or coerced, or forced into the operation.
You remember how awful the recovery was, if not the horrific pain of the surgery (local anesthesia is a joke).
You also remember how your parents felt no mercy or remorse, even after what they did and saw how hurt and upset and angry it made you.
Especially "mommy" who suddenly goes from taking care of you and protecting you from pain and fear, to becoming ice cold, you try to catch her gaze to get empathy from her, but her eyes are completely empty, the same way she looks when you're crying because you don't want an injection.

this is why it's so horrible when parents don't abstain from doing this shit to small boys, boys don't have any rights at all and the surgeon will rip them apart even if the anesthetic doesn't work. nobody gives a fuck about the trauma and horror it inflicts on boys. genital surgery should be completely illegal below an age threshold like 16-18 for any purpose whatsoever.
