I wouldn’t say trauma, but I really, really fucking hated the girl in the American rendition of Ring.
I remember, my sister and her boyfriend at the time had been watching the film, and they thought it’s a good idea to let a prepubescent child join in, so I sat my ass down, thinking horror movies were all for sissies, until the next thing I remember is being paranoid of our TV and having sleep paralysis for a week straight.
As of now, it’s my favorite horror movie, but it really fucked me up back then.
In terms of videogame related stuff, I can’t think of anything. I guess maybe Slender Man was pretty spooky? But that faded away quickly thanks to how shit the games were.

This really did something to me as a kid. Even to this day it makes me feel extremely uneasy.

fr i was scared of sonic.exe when i was 7. Searching creepypasta at 11pm was the rabbit hole i probably should not have done it.

As a young kid i was scared shitless of the Piranha Plant from SMB. Or so i've been told. My parents used to play it on one of those shitty plug and play famiclone consoles

Watching the exorcist with my parents when I was 8 or 9. The things in that movie freaked me out a little bit. But what really made me terrified of the movie was my parents telling that demons/possessions were real and it could happen to anyone. Now when I watch the exorcist, I really just find it funny.
Zoomers will never know the fear this caused
