The detective served a subpoena to Verizon and the results “indicated the subscriber to be” Samuel Liebman, along with his address in Tequesta, his phone number, and his email address.
In June, the detective got a search warrant for Synchronoss Technologies and wrote, “Within the ‘Contents’ folder to the Synchronoss Technologies account were 1000+ files. Within these files, a majority of them were images that depict child pornography. Also, I observed several images which matched the images I observed in the cyber tip.
“I also observed an image of a white male suspect, which matched the photograph of Samuel B. Liebman's driver's license photograph.”
The detective served a subpoena to Google for information about Liebman’s Gmail account.
Then, the arrest report said, “Search warrant results from Synchronoss Technologies” arrived and the detective “observed additional files of child sexual abuse within the suspect's Synchronoss Technologies account.”
Early one morning, authorities conducted surveillance at Liebman's home. They found lights on inside and his car is parked near the front.
Then, the detective got a search warrant and on July 29, “members of Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office SWAT team and Cyber Crimes Unit met at 6 a.m. to be briefed and review the pending execution of the search warrant. PBSO’s SWAT team executed the search warrant shortly after.”
That’s when the detective and another “made contact with suspect Samuel Liebman outside of his residence; he agreed to speak with us in my unmarked PBSO vehicle.”
Liebman confirmed information about his cellphone, two laptop computers, and social media accounts.
Then, according to the arrest report, “I asked Liebman what pornography he enjoyed watching. He indicated all kinds. I asked Liebman what the age of a child is. He stated persons under the age of 18.
“At this point of the interview, I went into details of the case and the evidence discovered within his Synchronoss account. Liebman admitted the reported Synchronoss account belongs to him.
He admitted to saving images of child pornography to his cell phone, computer and possibly tablet. Lehman stated he ‘is mentally ill’ and would save images to his devices because he has never had a girlfriend. Has been intrigued by child pornography for some time.”
The detective wrote about taking the cellphone, MacBook and HP laptops, two external hard drives and an Android tablet from Liebman's home. “These items were taken to PBSO evidence and will later be forensically examined for evidence of the crime.”
Samuel Liebman was charged with unlawfully and knowingly possessing, and intentionally viewing, 10 or more images of any form of child pornography, regardless of the content.
The 50 year old was booked on July 29 at 10:04 a.m.
He's now charged with 30 counts of possessing 10 or more child pornography images.
A judge set bail at $3,000 for each count. That adds up to $90,000.
