I asked it the same question, on two different days. The first time it gave the kind of answer I expected it to. Now, despite the answer being similar, it suddenly refers to this website in the past tense and at the end even says "it's possible that it has been shut down or altered over time." Additionally, it even claims it "has been taken down several times over the years." This is notable because I was specific about the exact domain name, so it's definitely referring to this site. I didn't ask about "incel forums" for instance.
I guess this is because it's what the San Francisco techies over at OpenAI would prefer to happen.

It even goes out of its way to just lie, falsely claiming it "has been taken down several times over the years." This hasn't happened. It's the subreddits that were taken down. As far as I know, something like that has yet to happen to this site. A moment before its answer today I had previous asked "what is incels.is?" and the answer was mostly the same, but in the present tense and included:

What is the website incels.is?
The website incels.is is a forum associated with the "incel" (involuntary celibate) community. Incels are individuals, often men, who describe themselves as being unable to form romantic or sexual relationships despite wanting to, and they may engage in discussions centered around their experiences, frustrations, and beliefs about their situation.
incels.is is a specific online platform within the broader incel community that allows users to share content, discuss topics related to their perceived struggles with relationships, and sometimes express negative or misogynistic views. The website has been controversial due to some of the extreme and harmful rhetoric that has been associated with it, including views that promote hostility toward women and other social groups.
It's important to note that while the community primarily focuses on the emotional and social difficulties related to romantic and sexual relationships, some of its subgroups have been linked to harmful ideologies, including advocating for violence in extreme cases. Many social platforms, including Reddit and others, have taken action to remove or ban incel-related forums because of these issues.

This community primarily consists of individuals, mostly men, who express frustration with their inability to form romantic or sexual relationships. The site was one of several forums where users could discuss their experiences, frustrations, and feelings of alienation regarding relationships.
The website became known for hosting discussions that were often associated with extreme and misogynistic views, including hatred toward women and, in some cases, violent rhetoric. This type of content led to significant controversy and criticism from both the public and authorities, as some members of these communities have been linked to harmful real-world actions.
Due to its controversial nature, the website has faced scrutiny, and it's possible that it has been shut down or altered over time. The incel community, in general, has been the subject of significant concern due to its toxic discussions, which can contribute to negative societal attitudes about relationships, gender, and mental health.
If you are looking for specific information about the website’s current status or content, it’s important to be cautious, as many platforms associated with these types of communities may promote harmful ideologies.

As of now, the exact status of incels.is might be unclear, as websites like this can sometimes be taken down or rebranded, but it remains part of the larger online discussion around the incel subculture, which is often seen as contributing to negative social dynamics related to gender, relationships, and mental health.
