When I was young and bluepilled, I assumed guys as handsome as Christian Bale or Jared Leto were 1/10000000, ie anomolies so uncommon they shouldn't be a concern in the dating market. It also have me hope seeing relatively average leading men being postured as sex symbols, giving the impression that I wasn't that far away from being hot.
