It's so easy to hate life if you are a sub5, but it takes much more intelligence to realize that life is awful despite having good experiences. It also takes a lot of empathy to don't get into the delusions that pleasure brings.

It's logically sound, however the value people put on life is driven by emotions. As such it will adhere to losers in life so they can feel better about not breeding, even if it's not by actual choice.
It would be interesting if they conducted a massive study on people from all walks of life on how they really feel about their lives.
